The participant will be required to write an open letter to the Prime Minister’s office raising an alarm about the destruction of energy sources across the country and the world at large.

OBJECTIVES

  • To improve the students' understanding of energy conservation issues in the country and the world at large.
  • To develop the environmental communication skills of students.
  • To nurture innovative ideas on energy conservation that could lead to a sustainable future.

PROCESS

Step 1 Application form to be submitted by the student on the Panasonic Harit Umang website.
Step 2 The students will then be required to write the letter and submit the entries on the dates mentioned under the guidelines.

GUIDELINES

What to do?
  • Write a 1,000-word open-letter to the Prime Minister of India raising an alarm about the destruction of energy sources across the country and the world at large.
  • Overall, the student/s need to submit the letter p in a folder bearing their name and the name of the school/college as the title, on the ‘Write to Conserve’ page - under the given theme. They should name the folder like this - Their name (school/college).

Word limit
  • The students must strictly adhere to the 1000-word limit.
Considerations for the write-up:
  • The students would share a set of innovative, ideal, functional, and implementable ideas in the letter.
  • The letter should also be supported by scientific findings in the form of data, sourced from recent reports, etc.
Submission Deadline
  • The student/s must submit the folder before 5PM on March 31, 2023.

JUDGING CRITERIA

  1. The letter would be judged on the basis of how effectively the student writes about the loss of energy resources.
  2. The letter would also be marked on the basis of how innovative, sustainable, and implementable the energy conservation ideas are.
  3. The student would lose marks if they exceed the word limit.
